Mount Palomar 2007 Best of Vintage Cabernet Franc

Being given the title of Best of Vintage is a pretty tall order, given the expectations. It suggests that this was the best wine to come from the 2007 growing season. Some years it is a difficult choice to pick the best wine, some years we don’t select one at all. But in 2007, the choice was very easy. This wine really delivers and stood head and shoulders above the rest, meeting or exceeding all of the expectations. It has aromas of blueberry cobbler, blackberries and ginger. The mouth feel is full, but the tannins are not overly aggressive and the finish lingers for an eternity (okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it does last a very long time).
